I really like this book for it's simplicity and yet great tasting recipes. While some of them may be very simple - such as the cucumber pizza - I would have never tried it without the guidance provided. I made those simple little pizzas and took them to a party and they were not only a hit, but they totally disappeared - and fast!! Tina in Virginia
Some really lovely recipes for dressings which we are always looking for to pour on our many salads and wraps. Also, a couple of soups I hadn't tried yet were very good. We don't eat many sweet things, but this book has a great sounding lemon pudding I want to try. A nice investment for the busy raw foodist. SassyRebel in Florida

It might seem like I could be biased regarding Angela's many culinary talents Because I'm her Mom. Let me tell you how she has influenced my life. First of all, I have been primarily a person who eats from all food groups, Including small amounts of meat. Once upon a time in the 60's I became A vegetarian by choice. In the 70's, I got into French gourmet cooking and other ethnic cooking because of the man I married. That went on for about 20 years, until I moved back to my childhood home to help my family with their cattle ranch. Then, living out in the wilderness, I ate the Standard American Diet (SAD), gained 30 pounds and felt sluggish. Angela continually tried to be my conscience with her great suggestions and recipes for a healthy diet, and whenever I visited her in California I felt like I was at a spa as I ate her delectable raw creations finding them both delicious and energizing! Something transformational began to happen to me As I started to use her fun and colorful recipes as side dishes and then as main courses! WOW! What a difference this has made. I'm now getting asked how on earth I lost so much weight, and one acquaintance demanded to know if I had "work" done!!!!!!! She said, (and I quote) "You look Damn good!" I owe this to the one you all know as the Celestial Raw Goddess, my daughter Angela Elliott. I highly recommend you start with her book Alive in Five and move through her other writings after that! The recipes are easy and well worth it - You will literally GLOW if you Change the way you eat, and it begins with your thinking. Just open your mind and your heart, then open your mouth and say Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :-)

'Alive in Five' has really opened all kinds of amazing doors for me. Being that I have a serious Auto-Immune Disease and my Doctors insist that I should be on chemotherapy, I've stopped the progression of my RA because of my living and raw foods diet!!! I continue to learn more and more about nutritional healing and this whole "raw" perspective is infectious and thrilling! And I never would have known about this wonderful and more importantly beautiful world that is our birthright (as you say) to enjoy! Before meeting Angela, I associated "Raw Foods" with cold veggies and uncooked, "plain" foods. I not only had no idea that the raw food diet is based on sound and wholistic health principles - but I couldn't even imagine that it could taste so amazingly delicious! I look forward to her recipes: full of variety, tantalizing tastes and gourmet combinations which reflect her vivacious personality! Perhaps more telling however is my teen son's reaction to her "cooking". He has had the pleasure of spending time over at Angela's home while visiting her son - his buddy. Given that my son is notoriously picky about his food and leans toward "junk foods", I was a bit concerned about how he'd take to eating while at their home. Imagine my enormously pleased surprise when he now looks forward to Angela's food during his visits! This is truly a testament to her not only healthy but tasty culinary talents! This is a great book for those who want a quick,healthy meal that looks good and taste YUMMY too. Bought this book for my daughter who has been doing the "raw lifestyle" for 2 years now. She loves all the easy to make recipes. I feel that the daily tonic that I take have improved my skin, attitude, sexual prowness ( Yim Yung Yang and Happy Chi). I feel her tonics have let me really experience my body and be one with it.
The experience of becoming one with my body had opened a spiritual side of myself that I have been looking for. The I truly believe should be taken for life, to keep you healthy and happy.
